The front section was built in 1904 and extensively added onto over the years. One section burned in 1929 and was replaced by the multi-story brick addition you see to the left in some photographs.

Two train tracks used to run to the back of the building to ease unloading. The vegetable storage section was converted into a bakery in 1937.
